Michael Dial

Michael Dial is a General Partner at Hatteras Venture Partners, where he invests from a $200M fund raised in August 2025 across Seed through Late Stage (Series A–D). He focuses on healthcare and life sciences, including biotechnology, therapeutics, biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, healthcare IT, and clinical trials, and invests primarily in the United States, including North Carolina and the Research Triangle, the East Coast and Southeastern U.S., as well as California and Massachusetts/New England. He serves on the boards of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization and the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering | UNC & NC State, and has invested in companies such as Ribometrix, G1 Therapeutics, Viamet Pharmaceuticals, Clinverse, and Boomerang Medical. Before Hatteras, he was a VP and Relationship Manager at SVB Financial Group; earlier roles include Laboratory Research Specialist at the UNC-Duke Michael Hooker Proteomics Facility and Research Chemist at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Michael studied at the UNC School of Medicine and lives in Durham, North Carolina.
