Suzanne Basalla

Suzanne Basalla is a Partner at Geodesic Capital, where she invests across early, mid, later, and growth stages in Japan, the United States, and Europe. Her focus areas include AI, advanced manufacturing, autonomous systems, cloud services, cybersecurity, deep tech, dual-use technologies, energy technologies, enterprise software, fintech, healthcare, maritime, national security, power and energy, precision technologies, robotics, SaaS, space, and sustainable technologies. She serves on the boards of NTT DATA, Inc. and the UCLA Terasaki Center for Japanese Studies (Board of Advisors), and has invested in companies like Databricks, Vercel, HashiCorp, Netskope, and UiPath. Before Geodesic Capital, she was President & CEO of the U.S.-Japan Council; Chief of Staff at Toyota Research Institute; Executive Vice President & COO at the U.S.-Japan Council; Senior Advisor to U.S. Ambassador to Japan John Roos at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo; Director for Japan at the Office of the Secretary of Defense; and a Naval Officer in the US Navy. Suzanne graduated from The George Washington University and the University of Virginia, and lives in Mountain View, California.
