Adam James

Adam James is a Partner and Head of Strategic Partnerships and Impact at Energy Impact Partners (EIP), where he focuses on the energy transition, impact, and sustainability, investing globally across venture, growth, and credit strategies. EIP manages $4.5B+ in assets and invests across stages including early- and late-stage venture, growth, credit, private equity, and infrastructure, with activity in the United States, Europe, and Asia (including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, and Norway). He serves as Board Chair of the Clean Energy Leadership Institute and lives in Ossining, New York. EIP’s sector coverage includes energy, climate technology, sustainability, clean energy, enterprise software, cybersecurity, deeptech, mobility transition, and the built environment; portfolio companies include Ring, ecobee, Arcadia, Form Energy, and Dragos. Previously, Adam held program and business operations roles at Tesla and was Deputy Director of Global Strategy and Policy at SolarCity; earlier, he was an analyst at Greentech Media and worked at the Center for American Progress. He studied at George Mason University.
