Deena Shakir is a Partner at Lux Capital, where she invests from pre-seed through late stage in companies across the United States and North America, with a focus on transformative technologies improving lives and livelihoods, including women’s and family health, digital health, software for life sciences, health equity, and fintech. She serves on the boards of Maven Clinic, Alife Health, SteadyMD, Trial Library, and Waymark, and has invested in companies like Maven Clinic, Alife Health, Summer Health, SteadyMD, and Trial Library. Before Lux, she was a Partner at GV (formerly Google Ventures); earlier, she worked at Google in product partnerships (health, search, AI/ML) and at Google.org on social impact investments, and was a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of State. Deena holds a BA from Harvard University and an MA from Georgetown University, and lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
