Steve Abbott

Steve Abbott is a Partner at Sapphire Ventures, where he invests at the Early, Venture, Expansion, and Late stages across vertical and horizontal application software, SaaS, and sports/media/entertainment technology; he is also a founding partner of Sapphire Sport. He primarily invests in the United States, with a focus on California and the San Francisco Bay Area. He serves on the boards of Catchpoint, Fevo, OpenX, Project44, and Reltio, and has invested in companies like Clari, Culture Amp, PubNub, Tonal, and Reltio. Before Sapphire Ventures, he was a Managing Director in Technology Investment Banking at Jefferies; previously he was Managing Director and Global Head of Semiconductor & Electronics Banking at UBS Investment Bank, and a Managing Director in Technology Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank Technology Group, with earlier roles at Robertson Stephens and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and as an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company. Steve holds a JD from Stanford Law School, an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and lives in Austin, Texas.
