Cain McClary, MD

Cain McClary, MD is the Founder and Managing Partner at KdT Ventures, where he invests from pre-seed to Series B in transformational science and its intersection with physical-world supply chains across sectors including data, engineering, biology, biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare technology systems, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, chemicals, and frontier science. He is currently investing from a $50 million fund and backs companies across the United States (including the Southern US and Greater Los Angeles Area), London, England, and British Columbia. He has invested in companies like Character Biosciences, Elegen, Checkerspot, Tierra Biosciences, and PathAI. Before KdT, he was an Advisor at 8VC; a Clinical Instructor and Visiting Professor at Tulane University School of Medicine; a Staff Physician and Analytics/Data Science Lead at Included Health; a Consulting Assistant Professor at Stanford University; and a Pathologist at Stanford University Medical Center. Cain holds a Sc.B. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Brown University, an MD from Tulane University School of Medicine, and completed a residency in Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina, United States.
