Lovisa Afzelius

Lovisa Afzelius is a General Partner at Flagship Pioneering, focused on company creation in biotechnology. She invests at the Series A, Series B, and venture round stages across biotechnology, drug discovery, therapeutics, computational biology, life sciences, and digital health, with activity in the United States including Massachusetts, Greater Boston, the East Coast, and New England. She serves on the boards of Alltrna (Chair), Apriori Bio (Chair), and the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce – New England (Board of Directors), and has invested in companies like Prologue Medicines, Alltrna, Metaphore Biotechnologies, Apriori Bio, and Elsa. Previously, she was an Origination Partner at Flagship Pioneering; President at Generate Biomedicines; Senior Vice President at Repertoire Immune Medicines; and held roles including Executive Director and Head of Systems Immunology, as well as Senior Director positions, at Pfizer. She studied at MIT Sloan School of Management, Uppsala University, and the University of Gothenburg, and resides in Belmont, Massachusetts.
