Jim Goetz is a Partner at Sequoia Capital, where he invests at stages from Pre-Seed and Seed through Series A–E, Growth, Late Stage Venture, and Private Equity across sectors including Enterprise Software, Cybersecurity, Networking, Mobile, Internet, Data/Analytics, and SaaS. He invests in companies across the United States, Southeast Asia, Israel, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Hong Kong. He serves on the boards of Intel Corporation, Palo Alto Networks, Observable, Dashlane, and Carbon 3D, and has invested in companies like Palo Alto Networks, Observable, Dashlane, Carbon 3D, and Pocket Gems. Before Sequoia, he was Co-founder of VitalSigns; Vice President of Network Management at Synoptics; and held engineering and marketing roles at AT&T, AT&T Bell Labs, and Digital Equipment. He attended Stanford University and lives in Miami Beach, Florida, United States.
