Kirk Nielsen

Kirk Nielsen is Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Vensana Capital, where he invests in medical devices, medical technology, and healthcare across stages from Seed through Growth and private equity rounds. He is operating a $2.5B fund raised in 2019, and invests in companies across the United States, including the Midwestern US, West Coast (San Francisco Bay Area), Colorado (Denver), Greater Philadelphia Area, and Boston. He is a past board member of the National Venture Capital Association. He has invested in companies like Okami Medical, CVRx, Nuvaira, Inari Medical, and Sequent Medical. Before Vensana, he was a Managing Director at Versant Ventures; earlier roles include Sales & Marketing at Medtronic, Consultant at Bain & Company, and professional hockey player (AHL/IHL/NHL). Kirk graduated from Harvard University and Harvard Business School, and lives in Minneapolis.
