Marie Thompson is a Partner at Powerhouse where she invests in pre-seed, seed, and Series A startups across CleanTech, Electric Vehicles, Energy, Renewable Energy, Software, and Transportation. She invests in companies across the United States, including California, the San Francisco Bay Area, the West Coast, and the broader Western US, and also invests via convertible notes. She has invested in companies like Class 3 Technologies, AmpUp, Sybill AI, Dollaride, and SparkMeter. Before becoming Partner at Powerhouse, she served as Principal, Senior Associate, and MBA Intern at the firm; earlier roles include Sales Strategy & Operations MBA Intern at Bloom Energy; Analyst roles in Corporate Planning and Risk Assessment (including Risk Assessment and Special Projects, and Risk Assessment Intern) at Apache Corporation; Public Policy Intern at Greater Houston Partnership; and Leadership Rice SME Fellow at the City of Sugar Land. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and lives in Oakland, California.
