Monica Brand Engel

Monica Brand Engel is Co-founder and Managing Partner at Quona Capital, where she focuses on impact investing for the un- and underbanked in the U.S. and emerging markets across FinTech and financial services. She invests at Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A–C stages, backing companies across Africa, Latin America, Asia, MENA, India, and Southeast Asia. She serves on the boards of Wasoko, VertoFX, Khazna, and Twinco Capital, and has invested in companies like Wasoko, VertoFX, Khazna, Twinco Capital, and Yoco. Before Quona Capital, she was an Adjunct Professor (Impact Investing) at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. She studied at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Williams College, and lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland, United States. Quona Capital recently raised $332 million.
