James Hardiman

James Hardiman is a General Partner at DCVC (Data Collective) where he invests in early-stage applied AI and deep tech across the United States, with a focus on the San Francisco Bay Area and California. He invests from Seed through Series C and focuses on sectors including AI, deep tech, biotech, life sciences, healthcare, robotics, automation, quantum computing, clean energy, and advanced materials. He serves on the boards of Valar Labs, NOETIK, Shennon Biotechnologies, Lumafield, and Gradle Inc., and has invested in companies like Recursion Pharmaceuticals, nTopology, Lumafield, Valar Labs, and Nium. James graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and lives in San Francisco, California.
