Nick-Anthony Buford

Nick-Anthony Buford is General Counsel at ClearSky, a venture capital firm focused on the energy transition and cybersecurity. ClearSky invests across Seed to Growth stages (including Series A–D, late stage, and post-IPO) and has activity in the United States (including Florida, the Greater Miami Area, the East Coast, the Southern U.S., and the Washington, D.C. metro area) and MENA. ClearSky’s portfolio includes companies such as Guardz, ClimateTrade, Bluelava, Mainspring Energy, and Diamanti. Before ClearSky, Nick-Anthony was a Senior Attorney at NextEra Energy Resources and previously practiced at Herbert Smith Freehills, Hogan Lovells, and Linklaters. He began his career as a law clerk at Terra and Southern California Edison and served as a Legislative Assistant through the California State Senate Fellowship. He holds a JD from UC Berkeley School of Law and a BA in Government from Harvard University, and he lives in West Palm Beach, Florida.
