Dakin Sloss is Founder and General Partner at Prime Movers Lab where he invests in breakthrough scientific startups across Energy, Transportation, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Human Augmentation, Agriculture, Life Science, and Psychedelic Medicine. He invests from seed through growth stages and has backed companies across the United States, including the San Francisco Bay Area, Western US, Northeastern US, Greater Houston Area, and Washington, DC. Prime Movers Lab raised a $500 million fund in September 2022. He serves on the boards of Tarana Wireless and Focused Energy, and has invested in companies like Carbon Capture, Paradromics, E‑Space, Heliogen, and Commonwealth Fusion Systems. Before Prime Movers Lab, he was Founder and CEO of Tachyus and OpenGov, Executive Director at California Common Sense, and a Research Assistant at the Stanford Physics Department; he also invested via Dakin’s Fund. Dakin attended Stanford University and lives in Jackson, Wyoming, United States.
