Arun Kumar

Arun Kumar is a Managing Partner at Celesta Capital, where he invests globally across Seed, Series A, Series B+, and late‑stage ventures with a focus on deep tech and the U.S.–India corridor. His sector coverage includes AI, hardware, space tech, enterprise software, biotech, healthcare (including medical imaging and precision oncology), cybersecurity, crypto/bitcoin mining, data management, logistics, wireless networks, bioconvergence, and other technology‑enabled transformation areas. He serves on the boards of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (Independent Director; Audit Committee Chair) and Indiaspora, and has invested in companies such as SambaNova, WEKA, H2O.ai, Auradine, and Boom Supersonic. Before Celesta, he was Chairman & CEO of KPMG India; Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Global Markets and Director General of the U.S. & Foreign Commercial Service at the U.S. Department of Commerce; a Partner and board member at KPMG LLP (later a retired partner); founder/CEO/CFO across entrepreneurial ventures; Co‑founder/CFO/VP Operations and board member at Cydrome Inc.; Controller at Elxsi; and a member of the Tata Administrative Service at Tata Group. Arun studied at MIT Sloan School of Management, University College (University of Kerala), and Lawrence School, Lovedale, and resides in the San Francisco Bay Area.
