Thomas Otter is a General Partner at Acadian Ventures, where he invests in Seed to Series B stage companies focused on Human Capital Management (HCM) technology, HR Technology, and the Future of Work across Europe (including the EU), the Middle East and Africa, and the United States. He serves on the boards of Penzilla (Board Member), Workpay (Board Observer), FORA (Board Observer), AG5 Skills Management Software (Board Observer), and TechWolf (Board Observer), and has invested in companies like become.1, SquarePeg, Arist, Reveal, and Growblocks. Before Acadian Ventures, he was the Founder of Otter Advisory, an Industry Advisor at Warburg Pincus, a Senior Advisor at PSG, a Non Executive Director at Basis Technologies, an executive at SAP/SuccessFactors, and a Vice President at Gartner. He holds a PhD from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology; PGDiplomas in the Business of AI and in Strategy and Innovation from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford; an LLM in IT Law from the University of Strathclyde; a PDM in HR from the University of the Witwatersrand; a BA (Hons) in Politics/Economics/Law from the University of KwaZulu-Natal; and completed Finance for Executives at the London School of Economics. He lives in Heidelberg, Germany.
