Jim Scheinman is the Founding Managing Partner at Maven Ventures, where he invests in seed-stage consumer AI startups across consumer software, AI, fintech, digital health, personalized medicine, and emerging tech, with a focus on the United States and Silicon Valley. He serves on the board of Zoom Video Communications and is a board observer at Cruise Automation, Inc., and has invested in companies like Zoom Video Communications, Cruise Automation, Inc., Embark Trucks, Epic for Kids, and Tango. Before Maven Ventures, he was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Charles River Ventures (CRV); earlier, he served as COO at Tango and at Check Inc. (now Mint Bills), and subsequently as an investor and advisor to both. Jim holds a BS in Neuropsychobiology from Duke University and a JD in Corporate Law from UC Davis School of Law (King Hall), and he lives in Los Altos, California.
