Maria Salamanca is a General Partner at Ulu Ventures where she invests in Pre-Seed, Seed, and Series A startups across Consumer, Health/Wellness, Edtech, and Software, with a thematic focus on immigrant founders. She invests in companies across the United States. She serves on the boards of Orange County Public Schools and Swing Left, and has invested in companies like Maximus, The Landing, Luminai, Dispo, and Prismpop. Before Ulu Ventures, she was a Partner at Unshackled Ventures; Co-Founder and Board President at SomosVC; Chief Operating Officer and Senior Advisor, Operations and Strategy at Swing Left; Founder of the College Access and Success Initiative at Orange County Public Schools; Executive Associate at FWD.us; Co-founder at Encire; and National Programs Data Analyst at Education Pioneers. Maria graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and lives in Palo Alto, California.
