He focuses on pre-seed through Series B stages across the United States, with an emphasis on the San Francisco Bay Area and the broader West Coast. He is investing from Anthology AI, a $100 million dedicated fund raised in August 2024. He serves on the boards of Pinecone, Neon, Unstructured Technologies (unstructured.io), ClearVector, and Eve, and has invested in companies like Fleet Artificial Intelligence. Before Menlo Ventures, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Splunk; Vice President, Engineering; Distinguished Engineer; and Chief Data Architect at Yahoo; and a Member of Technical Staff on the JavaSoft team at Sun Microsystems. Tim studied at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of California, Davis, and lives in Menlo Park, California.
